A proven brand building process

 

We developed a process for creating new brands that has been applied successfully for over twenty years.  It is based on the knowledge that a brand must be positioned against the most compelling benefit it offers.  Given human nature, this is often an emotional benefit rather than a functional benefit. People may shop a discount store for a lower price but the stronger benefit is the feeling that they are being smart and thrifty by doing so. We conduct research with stakeholders in you organization and your target audiences to identify the benefit that will best motivate them to support your brand.

 

 

 

Understanding and enhancing your brand

 

With existing brands we first audit the brand to see if it has been positioned against its most compelling benefit.  This usually involves research with stakeholders but can extend to consumer research if needed.  If the brand is well defined we need to understand it intimately so we can convey it properly.  If the brand is vague we need to identify its core benefit so we can enhance its effectiveness.  In either case the goal is to build a compelling brand story that helps you achieve your objectives.

 

Brand stories

 

If we develop a new brand or rejuvenate an existing brand, the Brand Story is the main deliverable of the process.  This document defines the brand from six perspectives:

 

Target Audience(s) and their needs of the brand

Competitors and their brand positions

Key functional and emotional benefits of your brand

Support(s) for your key benefits

Brand character

Brand values

 

The Brand story helps every stakeholder understand the brand fully and to convey it in a consistent and compelling way.

 

Copywriting and creative briefs

 

While we offer copywriting as a stand-alone service, we still endeavor to understand the brand thoroughly and the objectives for the project at hand.  If we have been involved in developing or enhancing the brand then we are well positioned to convey its benefits.  If we are engaged on a project basis we will often suggest that we write a Creative Brief if none exists.  The creative brief asks the questions that will ensure the brand and the project objectives are clearly defined.  We have written copy for virtually every medium from pay-per-click ads, blogs and websites to television/radio commercials, print ads and press releases. In every case we achieve a level of clarity and creativity that produces results.

 

                        

 

Graphic design

 

Great advertising has long been created by teams comprised of a copywriter and a graphic artist who share a philosophy on what marketing should do. Such is the case with us.  Our best work occurs when we are engaged to develop a strategy and then convey it in words and images.  We offer graphic design for every possible application from logos to training manuals, but we do so in the confines of a team approach that ensures we can apply our sympatico on your behalf.

Video Production and Graphic Design

 

 Producing

 

Rose Craig is an experienced video producer who can pull together all  of the elements required for a successful video.  She has produced feature films, documentaries, television series and numerous corporate videos.  Producing is offered as a stand-alone service or in conjunction with other functions. 

 

Editor

 

Rose Craig is an award-winning editor who is constantly engaged by advertising agencies, production houses and corporations to turn raw footage into compelling pieces of broadcast communication.  Rose’s extensive education in video and film editing came at a time when editors were expected to be artists and not just button pushers.  Rose crafts her projects to deliver stories that are powerful and visually arresting. She owns and creates using a complete Avid and Final Cut suite complimented by a wide array of special effects software.

 

Script Writing

 

Blair Minnes has written scripts for numerous promotional and training videos and television commercials and every one of them has achieved a laser-focus on the key message.  As a brand strategist, Blair is committed to identifying the messages that are going to best motivate the viewer to the desired action.  As a scriptwriter he believes that creativity should enhance clarity but never overwhelm it.  His approach ensures that your story is enlightening and motivating.

                        

                        

 

Special Effects Creation

 

2D compositing is a specialty for Rose Craig.  This type of special effect has becoming increasingly popular in corporate and non-profit videos, particularly where filming is problematic.  Through the animation of type and images, Rose can tell your story in a way that is concise and entertaining.

 

Graphic Design

 

Whether for video productions, print applications or digital media, Kate Howes designs for impact.  Working in conjunction with our other teams members, Kate produces communications that cut through and get noticed.  She uses images to build your image and tell your story with style.
